If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you Jesus saves!
… because Christ conquered death at the Cross,
and He’s the only way our sin debt can be repaid!

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I’m saved!
… because I’ve surrendered and been reborn to Him,
spiritually remade in exchange for His merciful grace!

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you of your need to be saved!
… because only faith through the Lamb’s shed blood,
has power to change hearts and wash our sins away!

If we were having coffee…
I’d rejoice to know you’re saved!
… because new life in Christ is just the beginning,
and our Blessed Hope of eternity with Him is
forevermore in the Light of His glorious
 grace!

All too quiet on the blogful front :-/
‘though always busy with lots to say.
Lately, all I wanna do is sit ‘n knit,
study the King James Bible and pray…
’cause day by day,
this ol’ world is
spinning and falling away 😦

But today is Resurrection Sunday ❤
and by the grace of Christ’s blood,
ALL who trust in Jesus will be okay!
’cause it’s ALL about Jesus…
He is the Life, Truth and only Way.

Hoping you’ll choose to trust Jesus
with all your heart and soul, today!

#62 💜 Hallelujah… Easter is God’s Amazing Grace!

colourful sheep

Hello & Welcome to my 62nd episode of the KWH iPad Show! Today’s feature is Easter ❤

Yup… a bit late :-/

In my defense, there’s been a major distraction… An overwhelmingly welcome distraction, which I’ll soon be blogging about!!! 😀

For now, this Easter post is running “late” (according to the calendar date) and I need to hop to it 😉 Always better a bit late than never at all, right?!? …hmmm…

Please enjoy the show, including christian comedian Tim Hawkins’ version of the classic AMAZING GRACE hymn with a twist of classic EAGLES band ❤

“May grace and peace [that special sense of spiritual well-being] be yours in increasing abundance [as you walk closely with God].

Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant and boundless mercy has caused us to be born again [that is, to be reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose] to an ever-living hope and confident assurance through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [born anew] into an inheritance which is imperishable [beyond the reach of change] and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for you.”

happy Easter ♥ happy Birthday ♥ happy Life . . . because He lives

Happy
Easter
Everyone!

potted daylily sprouting

April 3rd was Good Friday, as well as my birthday 🙂 Such festive dates as these align only every few years, so it’s extra special when they do! It was a day for phone calls and messages from far away friends/family, including a few lovely KWH facebook friends .. To our delight, we noticed that our potted daylily had sprouted whilst still tucked away for the winter in the garage. It’s not much, but it’s growing! And once again, the snow has melted—after a wild snow storm on April Fool’s day! For dinner, chef hubby lovingly prepared my requested offal b-day platter of beef liver, fried onions, mashed potatoes and beans. It’s not everyone’s b-day dish wish, but yummmmy for me! Oh, and this post is later than hoped. There was a kerfuffle when my computer froze with a “gift” of it’s own 😛 What a mess it’s been, fighting to find my way back to the usual 800+ inbox messages—which had somehow ballooned to nearly 6,000… yikes!!!

And that, in a nutshell, was my birthday/Easter weekend so far 😀
Now would you like some yarn cake?

Celebrations on this Easter Sunday will vary, but I hope everyone manages to squeeze in some yarn and/or chocolate bunnies/eggs along the way 🙂 For me, there will be all of these… but Easter is mainly about celebrating new life in Christ… I live because He lives! ♥

It was x-number of years ago,
when I emerged from mother’s womb.
It was 2000 or so years ago,
when Christ Jesus was laid in the tomb.
Then came the third day,
when up from the grave He arose!
Thereby saving us all from
eternal damnation and woes ♥

a fine Sweetie ❤ Tweetie spring blog-hopping nest

hand-knit bird, nest and flowers in the snow

Hello and welcome to my spot on the SPRING BLOG-HOP!
This blog-hopping party has been organized by Pretty Little Things in a Box 🙂

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Springtime in our neighbourhood was sans-snow for one week. But the white stuff just keeps coming back. So keeping a spring in our step has been a bit back ‘n forth! Rather than brooding, though, I remembered what they say about lemonade and decided to have some fun. Because green grass is good, but sometimes life gives you snowflakes and you just gotta make snow Christmas trees—decorated with hand-knit hearts, of course! 😉 I hope spring has been a season of melted snow and green grass where you live… Tell me now, how green does your grass grow?

They also say it’s good to have one bird in the hand-made nest. The nest in the photo was finger-knitted, using some of the newspaper yarn that I’ve been spinning. The blue bird is a prototype of tweets to come. The purplish heart is my Bramble❤tini with a twist of serendipity—knit using bulky fleece yarn. The “eggs” in the nest are another pattern I will eventually publish and call “Sweetie❤Soap Snugs”. Seeing as this is Easter weekend, I figured they’d make fine spring blog-hopping Easter eggs 🙂 The solid-coloured “egg” (accidentally placed upside-down in the nest… oops!) is the felted fabric result after all the soap has washed away.

The snow tree is decorated with various Sweetie❤Knit❤Hearts, Bramble❤tini Hearts and hand-knit garland. Perhaps you remember these from my Merry ❤ Christmas post? Oh, and that blooming bouquet of felted flowers in the snow? Those were featured in a previous Mother’s Day post 🙂

So there you have it… All sorts of springy fun 🙂 These and more will eventually make their way onto this blog. For now, these photos offer a glimpse into my patterns still to come!

Thanks again to Angela @ Pretty Little Things in a Box, for organizing this first round of Spring Blog-Hopping fun 🙂 And thank YOU for hopping over from the “Sew Rosey” blog! Sew Rosey is blog #8 in a total of 9 blogs participating in today’s blog-hop party. Now then, I’m eager to hop to it and visit everyone else’s blog… See you there!

Happy Easter and thanks for hopping by! ❤ Jackie

Happy Easter ❤ Spring Blog-Hop

happy-spring-blog-hop2014

Our spring so far has been a busy season of melting, then snowing, then melting again, then snowing… With warmer temperatures dangling over “next week’s” forecast all the while— like the Easter bunny’s carrot-on-a-string. The snow had all melted last week, for about a week. Then today, the landscaping fell back into wintery-white. But by early afternoon, the snow was melting so fast that I had to run and grab my camera for a few last-minute snowy pics of hand-knit props. All this, in preparation for this weekend’s “Happy Spring Blog-Hop” post—organized by Angela @ Pretty Little Things in a Box.

Yep, you read that correctly… For the first time in my blogful history, I shall attempt to post more than once or twice, with THREE posts over the course of the next handful of days!

. ❤ . ❤

I know, I know… woohoo, exciting stuff… right?!? But can she do it?
My hope is that you will come back to see how it turns out 😉

So then, let us begin with today’s Happy Easter greetings and video.
Then on Saturday the 19th, I’ll be joining the “Happy Spring Blog-Hop” party.
All this, followed-up with a little something special for Earth Day. 🙂

Wishing you the happiest of Easter weekends! ❤ Jackie

Easter in Living Colour ❤

Mulit Coloured Sheep by Cooldawg

As we g(r)aze upon this vivid “flock of sheep” photo… does it remind you of anything?

To me, it’s like a baa baa baah-sket filled with colourful Easter eggs 🙂  . . .  Or like the grazing version of my knitting fantasy to have a neatly stacked wall(s) filled with yarn!  . . .  I find it rather stimulating. Yet at the same time, it warms my heart and gives me that cozy-warm, fuzzy-snuggly feeling inside ❤

Truly, this photo is vibrant and fantastic,
yet peaceful—all at the same time.
Who could have guessed that a splash
of neon-pastel could look so perfectly natural
in a meadow, right?

394px-Flock_of_sheep

These particular sheep belong to a research flock at the US Sheep Experiment Station near Dubois, Idaho, USA

And here are the same sheep, au naturel…
Their natural beauty leaves us wanting nothing more than to reach out and hug ‘em in all their lovely woolly goodness. Yet the artist’s colourization technique (pictured above) has quite definitely added a whole new level to the thought of soft & cuddly!

And so this Easter, these photos have reminded me of the reason why my heart loves to celebrate Christmas and Easter. Everyone celebrates in their own way, but for me it is all about Jesus! And just like these photos, my life naturally seemed pretty good until I met Jesus Christ and invited Him to be Lord of my life.

Ever since then, life has become more and more vibrant and fantastic, yet peaceful—all at the same time. Plus oh so colourful, even on dreary days when it doesn’t really feel like it.

Wishing you a colourful life! ❤ Jackie

He is not here;
He has risen,
just as He said.

Shamrocks & Springtime & Snow Storms . . . Oh My!

shamrock-snowball

Spring is in the air and finally on the calendar! This year, winter marked Thursday’s first full day of spring with a doozy of a blizzard… The day was windy, treacherous, and left us with an additional foot or so of fluffy snowflake from heaven. It was a rather timely storm, I’d say. Surely, this will also have been winter’s last blast!

Lucky for us, we are blessed to have a wonderful neighbour (see photo below) who has taken it upon himself to snowblow several neighbouring driveways whenever the weather is looking all white. His name is Randy, but we think of him as our “snow angel”. God bless Randy for caring to clear our driveway throughout the season—including twice on Thursday, then again Friday AM for a third time in two days ♥

These days our forecast is filled with bright sunshine! But what does one do with all of that snow?! You might mix it with fun reader feedback… Isn’t that so? (THX bekswhoknits & caforiginals)

Shamrocks and clover are symbolic of spring. And so before anyone could say, “Sweetie♥KNIT♥Shamrocks in the snow”, my needles were sprouting 4-leaf versions to add to my collection. Outside in the backyard, my nimble knitting fingers arranged them all just so. Then with my camera, I snapped a bunch of pics in the glistening, white, powdery snow 🙂

This photo op was also a great op to help smooth out my Gimp software learning-curve!

Our mid-March snow storm on the first full day of spring... before, during and after pics + lucky Sweetie❤KNIT❤Shamrocks

PICTURED ABOVE: tri-photo collage of our mid-March snow storm on the first full day of spring… including before, during and after pics + lucky Sweetie♥KNIT♥Shamrocks

Yes, it was fun to create this snow-scaped collage of Sweetie♥KNIT♥Shamrocks. Look closely and you will find three lucky 4-leaf Sweetie♥KNIT♥Shamrocks “hidden” amidst the mostly 3-leaf versions. Does any of this inspire you to knit a meadow’s worth of Sweetie♥KNIT♥Shamrocks for an Easter and/or springtime scavenger hunt in your own backyard?

Wishing you a happy first week of spring!  ♥ Jackie
