Hello Friends… I’m still here 🙋💜😍 ‘though feeling a bit sheepish after all these unplanned months in silence 😜 Spent the summer seeking peaceful moments, whilst traversing stressful detours under increasingly disturbed concern for the Trudeau governments blatant disregard for Canadian democracy! Sadly, this was also the final summer for 4 WordPress bloggers (that I’m aware of) who fell forever silent 😦 It’s a strange feeling to realize people you’ve interacted with online, yet never met in person, are no longer with us 😦 So… ‘guess my blogful “oomph” took a hike. Or was it out flying an inspirational kite?!? Whatever the case, I’ve tried many times but couldn’t get it “write” :-/

Yeah, that’s it… silently flying an inspirational kite atop the plethora of unfinished projects piled high around the unravelling heap of my knotted entanglement 😉 Switching to stitching always helps. But for all life’s ups and downs, my heart is sure glad to have Jesus ❤

Simon & Garfunkel’s thought provoking song about the sound of silence (composed by Paul Simon, 1964) seems a rather timely tune for today. Wouldn’t you say? But can silence have a sound when by definition it is soundless?!? Hmmm, quite the paradox! Well anyway…

Here are a few videos, plus my attempt to spin a lyrical rhyme reflecting the sounds planted within my own particular brain… Perhaps you’ve also been hearing the sounds of silence and listening for God Almighty’s still small voice, while trusting in Jesus as the sole Truth for souls amidst the turmoil of worldly noise and confusion? ✝🙏💜 Feel free to break the silence!

"The Sound of Silence" lyrics by Paul Simon, plus my own version.

Thank you for visiting my Knitting With Heart blog today!
I’d love it if you’d also stop by and “like” my Knitting With Heart facebook page.
Feel free to share links to my posts 🙂 I look forward to hearing from you!

  1. I’m sorry you have had such a hard time. Politics is frustrating in the U.S. as well. Even everyday life can be so hard. I know it was tough too in the “olden days,” but the stress of today gives us a different sort of anguish and frustration. I love the original Simon & Garfunkel version of the “Sounds of Silence.” It is so soothing. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your puns, and your pain, and welcome back to the blogging world.

Ah yes, the "olden days" … seems like only yesterday :-/ It certainly has been distressing to watch the world-wide political puppet show. These past months have been especially sleepless, for me… But now, I'm feeling comfort amidst the turmoil because these are the signs of Christ's return… Maranatha! 😇💕🙏🎶✝😅

  3. Jackie, this is one of my all time favourite songs – ever since I first heard it as a teenager in the 80s. You do right to take the time for yourself if it feels right; I’ve had two days with no wifi and found my joy in gardening again – makes me think I better not forget the real world too! It’s sad and very odd phenomenon when we lose our blogging friends…I know two who’ve passed this summer…there isn’t any sort of closure or reality to it. As for silence having sound…at times it feels more powerful and louder than a cacophony of voices!

    • awe… another 2 silent bloggers 😦 Life’s rough. I like that word cacophony to describe the deafening noise of today’s world! How quickly we’ve all become chained to wifi :-/ Always good to throw off the chains and take a break from it all… Back to the good ol’ days of not so many years ago, when what we now call “taking a break” was just everyday life. Glad to hear you’ve been re-enjoying the outdoor gardening life! 🙂 💜 Jackie@KWH

Unfortunately, I try not to be on FB more than just to say ‘hello’ to my kids half way around the world, but limiting my readings to them has caused me to miss many of my friends’ posts.

I loved how you expressed your heart. These are such troubled days. Down here to the south of you, we don’t always hear too much about how Canadian freedoms are being eroded as well. I will try to search that out. My brother-in-law lives on one of the islands destroyed by Hurricane Maria. He lost everything except his dog and his life. He survived the night in his bathtub with a mattress over him. It really brought home to me that nothing we have is of any importance. It is only and has always only been our relationship with God our Father, hearing His still small voice and speaking to Him in ours, that matters. No one can take that away. The adversary’s kingdom will try to take anything he can from us, but he can’t take that. That is a great comfort no matter what happens. Our God is great and mighty and He takes the time to love me.

    • Oh wow, those were some wicked storms :O Glad to hear your BIL and his furry BF made it through safely!
Global politics is definitely alive and well in Canada 😥 Now approaching 2 yrs into JT’s 4-yr term… We’ll never make it!!! :O I frankly don’t know how that guy can sleep at night, but he is hell-bent on ripping our country to shreds! If you’re interested, I’ve now embedded a link from professional Cdn journalist Spencer Fernandez’ WP blog—click “Trudeau government”.
Yes indeed… praise the LORD, maranatha and amen 🙏✝🎶💙 I beleive the adversary’s kingdom is right around the corner and that Satan is ramping up his devilish efforts to deceive/damn as many unsaved souls as possible :O Thankfully, once we’re saved by believing in Jesus Christ as our LORD and Sovereign Saviour and that He died/rose again to pay the price of our sins, all the devil can do is try to make our lives miserable! 😛 HA! … and for all these things, we have Jesus! 😇🙏✝🎶😍 💜 Jackie@KWH

Does it motivate us to submerge ourselves in the spiritual world? Reading, studying, trying to understand God’s world would be far better than storing up “things” that can be wiped away with one strong wind, ❤ or one fire.

  9. Hi. I’m so pleased to find a blog from you dear fried from so far away. Indeed we here in Australia have heard so much about the freedoms you have lost in Canada and we are heading down the same path rapidly. The last book in the bible is being fulfilled year by year this century and honestly even the church is blinded by ‘materialism’ and cannot comprehend that the battle on the earth is between LIGHT and DARK, The darkness of Deception is powerful strong and insanely deluded. Christ ALONE is KING and LORD. i love how you express your life and continue on with your craft and knitting etc. I write now more passionately than I ever have before in my life…..Sow Beauty, speak of love, WRITE of values……This was what I believe God spoke in my heart when I was swamped by grief and sorrow for the tragedies in the world. So I write….but in my limited way I have also begun to knit and pray. Very primitive compared to your beautiful work but I have in recent weeks been knitting beautiful butterflies and simply giving them where appropriate as a message of hope and LIFE. Technology is a bit difficult for me but……if you ever want to find out more about this Australian Passionate Senior Citizen there is a new website set up which highlights my book (not about the book here) but the links do share a bit about my life. http://www.legacyoflimga.com
Keep knitting but most of all keep holding on to the ONE Maranatha indeed Come Lord Jesus Come. My desire is to flood the world with my meditation books Our God Lives! and ‘Peace’. This will happen when I can buy some for myself and be able to GIVE where needed. My life is not about fame or fortune but all about I pray LIVING FOR HIM. XX Faye

    • Hi Faye, my friend from so far away ❤ Thanks so much for the link and encouragement. Your book sounds inspiringly wholesome and I've pinned it via Pinterest to help spread the word. Great to hear how your heart listens to the mighty whispers of God Almighty, then responds with prayerful knitting. Creativity definitely soothes the soul! We naturally turn to creativity in the wake of our world spinning out of control, since we are created by and in the image of the Creator of all things! Sharing the message of God's hope and life via handknit butterflies is a lovely idea 😦 Unfortunately, they’re merely one corrupt gov’t in a world-wide political scheme of satanic puppetry. Their foolish flesh refuses to acknowledge that life is all about Jesus. Neither do they realize how their actions are working to fulfil the final chapters of world history, as prophesied thousands of years ago in the Bible. Very exciting times to be alive and witnessing all this Biblical prophecy coming together so swiftly and so precisely!!! Overwhelming too, although the Bible has given fair warning to expect such political mayhem, heresy/apostasy within the Church and outragious perversion in these last days leading up to Christ’s return :-/ God alone knows how low things will go before the rapture ❤ Jesus is Lord… maranatha! 🙏😇🎶✝ 🙂 💜 Jackie@KWH

But you know, our sad little hearts kept praying with an open mind asking/seeking/trusting God to show us what the heck to do next. Yet nothing came of it (not yet, anyway). “May the god of hope fill you with all joy –
and peace… in believing – that you may abound in hope and in power – in that power through the the holy spirit…”
            and I like to add….

                  • Well don’t forget to put on the garment of praise to cast off any heaviness (psalms) and I know a seasoned warrior like yourself knows this – but we do need those reminders time to time – eh? And earlier this year when there was this unexpected attack – some folks came over and it was just stressful and it all things are a spiritual attack- it some things. Evoke obvious and we can see (and you know the Bible says to be aware of the craftiness of the enemy so we can fortify and make changes and not let that area be weak – but sometimes the attack sneaks in and is part of his scheme cos we’d resist obvious attacks – it if he slowly pushes buttons and sneaks crap in – well – suddenly it is exposed – praise god for that !!) anyhow – things were swirling and I knew it was spiritual – so I went back in the house – snuck in the dining room and praised God – lifted my hands and thanked him for strength- wisdom – thanked him for his presence- for his gifts and for the beautiful spring day- and Jackie – in those two minutes I was renewed and I also felt the powerful peace he promises – and so it was a reminder that there is no battle god has not already won – and when we praise him we bring that light that get darkness cannot exist in – also – we can stir up joy and arouse a spark that does not come if we just stay enduring – I dunno – I guess is depends on the situation and times can get tough – but that beautiful joy he gives us something people outside the faith don’t grasp – it takes feeling the powerful presence of god to really know it – to smile before him and with him – to feel enveloped in god’s love and to feel his presence – oh I wish it for everyone ! And I have had my share of silent seasons and sometimes fast and listen to the Bible (online version) for hours straight to make sure I am feeding my spirit cos we know this is wha sustains is – a built up inner man and sometimes we have to grind it out – like Paul did – and when he said he learned to be content with a lot of little – that cake from some tough seasons / he matured and learned to detach and learned it is never in our strength 🔵 but through the power of god – that is why he sent the Holy Spirit – coz he knew we needed a helper and it is in and though Him we anchor – and one of my favorite names for the Holy Spirit – is comforter because he soothes our mind and affect – also – the name counselor cos he gives us insight and wisdom – sorry to ramble but it is so refreshing to share with a sister in the lord and I am so glad you opened up about your silent season and current mode – be encouraged – good things are in store – but are

                    • Wow Yvette ❤ So uplifting to hear your heart's rambling excitement for Jesus! And where would we be without our prayer closets (aka dining rooms) where we can slip away and dress for spiritual warfare success by putting on the garment of praise for our Lord Jesus Christ ❤ Truly a comfort to know He holds us near/dear, has already won every battle and that our eternal future is with Him 😀 Hope/Pray everyone we know will realize in time that nothing compares to a personal relationship with Jesus! Satan's no dummy, though, and he's got a LOT of sneaky/sly tricks up his deceitful sleeves :-/ Yet all he can do to anyone saved (and only upon permission from Almighty God) is merely try to steal our joy and make life miserable! 😇🎶💕🙏✝

I’m glad you left the comments open on this article. I wanted to re-assert myself. ❤ Remember me? I have not fallen off the end of the earth, but I have failed to stay in touch. 😉

Maybe I told you this before, but my husband is Canadian and I am American. Now there! I have used a term that has apparently fallen out of vogue–the hated label, American. I am told that such a terminology is proud to the max because there is more than one America. I have friends in South America and have known others from Central America, but still my habit holds–the habit of saying I am American. Isn't it true? Whether I am from North, South or Central America, I am still American wouldn't you say?

I have been reading about the ban on gender specific pronouns in Canada. That just blows me away. Has everyone gone mad? I am so happy not to be living there anymore. I am afraid I am way too old to change my labels of people who don't know who/what they are.

I have shot off my mouth and probably will regret it, but I do love many Canadians! I appreciate their grit to survuve the snows and the winds of the plains. Then there are the other less beaten areas, like Victoria, BC. We might even get over into Lapland. What a wonderful story they have to tell. Knitting and the other needle arts are turly necessary there–not just a luxury.

Take care! Keep writing even if you are sad. You have a special place in my heart (pun intended).
