Well here’s hoping this cute poem inspired by the whimsical ceramic
artistry of Belén Soto will brighten somebody’s day, today! 😍😘☺️ ♥ Jackie

writing to freedom

The Bear Essentialsbear family, poetry

there is a family of simple bears

who live in a humble forest lair

they are a lively and happy lot

with elegant manners taught

~

flowers, ties and grace at every meal

is the family dining deal

fetch yourself some tasty grog

and have a seat on the family log

~

oodles of berries and honey

more bountiful than funny money

so yummy it makes your tummy tingle

transforming food into comic jingles

~

come join our family fray

with laughter and lively play

no worries for this crew

we live each day brand new

`

Here’s a shout out to kids, bears, fun and the simple joys of life. Once again the playful ceramics of Belén Soto inspired me to have fun with my poetry. I hope you enjoy her delightful bears and other creative creatures on her website

  1. well seeing you a bear hug! and these ceramic bears are cute! in art class, some middle schoolers used to use polymer clay (I do not teach anymore, but did for many years) and well, one of the long time samples I had was a polymer clay bear – it always made it back in the bin…. and this post reminded me of a some fun lessons. thx.

    • Big bear hug back at ya, Yvette ❤ You were an art teacher? That must've been fun! Well now you've reminded me of my very special teddy bear candle—packed away somewhere "safe" 😉 … gee whiz… And it would've been perfect for this reblog! Oh well… I'll need to find it for next time! 🙂 ♥ ❤

  2. This blog reminds me so much of my Bear Collection. My daughter was newly married and the events of 9/11 shocked her so much she felt they- her and Mark – should not bring children into this broken world. I wanted to sow hope so I bought the first bear in The Teddy Bear Collection and began to write some stories. His name is Peter the Pilot. I finished up with 40 in the collection and my daughter did have a son and a daughter and always saw my bears as symbols of HOPE. I have about 12 stories with the 40 bears but perhaps you blog and the beauty of its expression should somehow encourage me to get them out there. I would like to know if anyone would like part or needs a bear in this collection. I believe they stopped making them several years ago. Thanks for the beautiful blog. I love it!

    • Oh yes, Faye… Your bear stories sound wonderful and I do hope you will blog about them… This world needs to hear the message of hope! I’m glad 9/11 did not cause your daughter & hubby to give up on starting their family… The shock of 9/11 was also when my first heart-shaped knitting emerged off my needles 🙂 ♥ ❤
