Hello & Welcome
to my 30th episode of the
KWH iPad Show!

Today’s feature is the season’s first snowfall…
as seen through the eye of my iPad 🙂

Hey there…
We’ve got snow!

Yup…
It’s that snowy time of the year once again, here at the 53rd parallel north on the Canadian prairies. And awe shucks, I haven’t even blogged about my summer or autumn photos… yet!

This year’s first foot of flakey blanketing white fluff arrived Monday morning and continued to fall hard for us until Tuesday afternoon. It’s our first real snowfall since “snow angel” neighbour Randy moved away. And while my husband’s HPP medication is definitely showing signs of healing ((( yay, God heard and is answering our prayers!!! ))) he’s still on crutches. So, this 2015/16 season of snow shovelling is in my hands, which is totally okay. After these past few years of not having to shovel, my nimble knitting muscles are about due for a workout anyway 😉

The first snowfall is always the prettiest. Yet these (now less than 8 hours) short days leading up to winter solstice can be a challenge, when trying to capture glimmers of glistening fresh snowy magic. And so, my trusty iPad and I have been keeping one eye on the sky and a finger on the camera trigger!

Forecasters have predicted we’ll have another winter like last year… And that sounds good to me, since last year was mild! Whatever the case, I’m sure the snow will stick around until mid-to-late April—just like it always does :-/ 🙂 ❤

Introducing… my Bramble❤tini Heart knitting pattern

    • Thanks David 🙂 We swapped our rainy west coast of souther British Columbia weather for prairie sunshine in 2009… And the first thing we never missed was all that rain!!! Hope today is sunny where you are! 🙂 ♥ ❤

        • Yikes, gotta keep dry! That reminds me of when we lived in BC and I used to pack an extra pair of socks for the bus ride to work. Umbrellas were just part of the wardrobe and/or a towel to dry my hair… LoL … At least snowbanks just sit still until they melt 😉 I hope you get to see some snow in time for Christmas! 🙂 ♥ ❤

      • lol. We get very little snow in Johannesburg. Maybe a light dusting every 10 years, if we are really lucky. 🙂
If you take a drive to the mountains further south, you do get the snow. Its a drive worth it!

        • Truly, our climates are like night/day… You have to drive to the mountains, while we simply step outside and into the snow! 🙂 ♥ ❤

          • 🙂 True. I think I love snow so much since we really have to make the effort to enjoy it. I guess it would be different if it snowed here regularly.
You enjoy some snow this winter on my behalf. 🙂

            • Shall do 🙂 and that is true… Snow is lots of fun, apart from freezing temps (which nobody really likes). I’d like it more if we were surrounded by it for less than 5 months at a time. But so far, so good… currently a wee bit of melting and balmy +2ºC 🙂 ♥ ❤

              • Your weather has indeed been very mild this winter, so far so good. I think you are going to have a pleasant winter, and not too cold, judging by the weather now. Its cooler here, no more heat wave warnings, and we have had a bit of rain, hoping for a lot more. 🙂

                • Here’s hoping for pleasant weather with sufficient rain there and mild temps here! I’ve just checked your forecast and had to smile because what you call “cool” is downright hot summer weather, to me 😉 🙂 ♥ ❤

                  • Thank you so much. We do need the rain, and wont mind at all.
It is “cool” today, however we have been warmed it will get got again, and the weather services have issued a “heatwave” warning for during the week. 🙂
We are in for a really hot vacation. 🙂
                    Take care.

  7. Would I ever get used to it? At this time of year I praise the Lord I’m not Canadian. 🙂 I mean, I know it’s pretty in photos but I’m so happy to just admire from afar. Hope hubby recovers enough to help you out in a while.

    • Hahaha …awe Jo… ‘guess we can’t all be Canadian, then 😉 … LoL …I’m happy just knowing you’re in the “audience” 🙂 Truly? I’d likely miss it, but wouldn’t mind trying the expat life somewhere sans snow to see for sure! This week’s +Cº temps have managed some melting, so that’s nice 🙂
Thank you very much for your support in hubby’s hope to one day toss those crutches in exchange for a shovel and/or golf clubs… Slowly yet surely, that day will come! 🙂 ♥ ❤

    • Thank you, Linda 🙂 I hope your “again for the first time” Christmas in the snow (with your ancestors) will be merry and bright! Indeed, this year is a bit brighter for us… As we are so relieved to finally see a glimmer of hope, where hubby’s HPP had us feeling increasingly hopeless… Praise the Lord! 🙂 ♥ ❤
