the KWH iPad Show #11 ๐Ÿ’œ summer solstice sunset

Hello & Welcome
to my 11thย episode of the
KWH iPad Show!

Today’s feature is ourย summer solstice sunset …
sunrise 5:06 am ๐Ÿ™‚ sunset 10:06 pm
… missin’ my iMac, but luvin’ the 17-hour days!

blog post ๐Ÿ™‚

My favourite thing about living this far north is summer solstice and the extra-long days that go with it! That “other” solstice will have us on the flip side soon enough… But these days, especially with the above seasonal temperatures we’ve been having, it’s just so GOOD to enjoy being outside watching glowing skies finally dim around 11 pm ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s my idea of a summertime thrill!

Catching a glimpse of the summer solstice sunrise, on the other hand, is more rare… I’ll sometimes manage to wake up in time to see the sky already beginning to brighten by 4:00 am. But then I layย down for a moment, whilstย the sun rises to the peak of our neighbour’s roof… And awe shucks, the moment passes me by again! :-/

Last year’s summer solstice was extra great, for me. That’s when my iMac finally got resuscitated, after a month and a half on the fritz ๐Ÿ™‚ ย Now again, since directly followingย this post in early Aprilย ofย this year, my iMac has been gone for good :-/ But the blog must go on! And my trusty iPad has been a real lifesaver for that!!!

Thanksย for joiningย me in my iPad-photo solstice celebration of God’s glorious sun setting skies on theย longest day of the year. How did you enjoyย your summer solstice?

ย Our weather forecastโ€”fahrenheit or celciusโ€”for the
first week of summer is looking mighty fine ๐Ÿ˜€
Wish you were here!ย

See how the video is pannedย to the far left? That’s where ourย winter solsticeย
sun shallย set 6 months from nowโ€”between the last 2 clumps of taller trees.

    • So true, Steve ๐Ÿ™‚ Really glad to have pics and this blog post from that gorgeaous day… Thanks for the reminder! Lately, I’ve caught myself looking out across that field with thoughts of summer earthtones… But then, my brain kicks into gear and says everything’s all white ๐Ÿ˜‰ LoL … and will remain so for a couple more months… sigh… Must be a touch of cabin fever?! Ah well, be it physical or emotion, we all need relief from winter. I hope your winter season is going well for you! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ’œ Jackie@KWH

Oh it is brutal out here! I live in So. Calif. so the worst winter we have is about 15 inches or rain over the year…I know, don’t throw snowballs at me…Lol!

Most of the year the sun is out and except for some mornings in the 30’s during winter, we don’t have much to complain about here…

        • heehee… Well you dodged a snow throw there, Steve ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yup, SoCal winters are definitely a world away from ours! Thankfully, clear/sunshiny skies is one thing we have in abundance throughout the year! And alreadyโ€”since winter solstice, our sunrise/sunset hours have increased from 7 to 9 hours! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ’œ Jackie@KWH
