DIY felted-loop-linky Sweetie♥Knit♥Heart bling!
.
Does your wardrobe need a little heart?
In last week’s post, I demonstrated how to make hearty home decor accents that could be used as: woolerfully festive seasonal garlands… wraps for around dinner napkins/candles and special occasion decor… adornment for your book lovin’ shelves or whatever item/space you love!
Today’s post has a nice ring to it, too (plus matching bracelets)! It’s a hearty form of accessorize with a warm ‘n fuzzy “bling” that will knit-erally have you wearing your heart on your sleeve … errrm, so to speak 😉
Okay, time for accessorizing!
Begin by downloading my Sweetie♥KNIT♥Heart FREE knitting pattern. Click HERE for the original post. You can also view, follow and save my designs to your favourites via Ravelry and Craftsy. Next, knit the hearts from feltable wool and appropriately sized knitting needles. See “how to” PDF instructions (below) for felting the loopy straps. Be sure to leave extra-long tails and check for fit while felting, since the felting process causes wool fibres to shrink/matt and lose the ability to stretch.
.
RING:
US size 3 / 3 mm needles
approximately 6.5 feet / 2 m wool
approximately 12″ / 30 cms yarn tail length for felting
finished strap length: approximately 2.5″ – 2.75″ / 6.25 – 7 cms
BRACELET — single strap:
US size 3 / 3 mm needles
approximately 9 feet / 2.75 m wool
approximately 2.5 feet / .75 m yarn tail length for felting
finished strap length: approximately 8 inches / 20 cms
BRACELET — double strap:
US size 6 / 4 mm needles
approximately 18 feet / 5.5 m double-strand wool
(aka 2 x 9 feet / 2 x 2.75 m)
approximately 2.5 feet / .75 m yarn tail length for felting
finished strap length: approximately 8 inches / 20 cms
NOTE:
knitting double-strand (two strands together as one) gives you the option
for felting two loopy bracelet straps (as pictured), or a single, thicker strap.

No, I’m not really a knitter. Used to be back in the day but was always into the very simple!

Knitting did not grip me the first couple of tries, either. And now look… I might even inspire you to give knitting another try! Oh the anticipation of waiting to see what you come up with 🙂 ♥ ❤

Oh sorry for the confusion… TSB is your blog’s initials. Do you prefer Janice? 🙂 ♥ ❤

Oh apologies!! I was wondering what that meant. I guess the feeling of another blogger calling me by my initials was different but new 🙂 seems nice. Apologies again, Jackie. I don’t mind TSB or Janice 🙂 ❤

No apologies necessary… and I’m so pleased to know you, Janice! In this blogging world, there’s something new every day. And it’s nice to call people by name—whether we know their name or not… lol 🙂 ♥ ❤

Thank you, Jackie 🙂 I like calling people by their name. If I can’t find it on their blog, I’ll keep searching until I find it. If not, then I’ll just ask 🙂 I found yours straight away but then couldn’t find your about me…but a few clicks later, and I found it 😀 yay

Yeah, it can be difficult to find the names of some bloggers. Some seem to prefer their blogful stage name. Hmmm… I’ll need to buckle down and figure out my about page! But first, I really want to get over to your place and catch up with you there!!! 😀 ♥ ❤
