Happy Ewe Year ♥ 2015 is the year of sheep
2015 is the year of the sheep/ram/goat, according to the Chinese Zodiac. Technically (as per the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival of China), this festive Year of the Sheep starts February 19, 2015 and lasts until February 7, 2016. I’m not sure what the connection is between sheep and horoscopes/astrology, but wool comes from sheep… And my nimble knitting fingers love working with wool! So the idea of dedicating an entire year to all things sheep sounds woolerful, to me 🙂
And with all the “Year of Sheep 2015” graphics already on the internet, I decided to have a little fun by creating my own 🙂 Now my sweet knitterly ewe is all dressed up, after a mini Bramble♥tini make-over… including hair/mascara, colour-coordinated slippers and hearty knitting on her needles 😉 Clicking the graphic will take you to MY DESIGNS (knitting patterns also available via Ravelry and Craftsy), for any of ‘yous’ knitters who may want to knit along! The year’s colour is MARSALA PANTONE 18-1438, which is PANTONE’s colour of the year for 2015.
So here’s to the start of an extra warm ‘n fuzzy year filled with all things sheepish!

In Chinese Astrology there are twelve signs associated with animals and their signs run for the entire year, like you said. In Western Astrology the signs run from month to month, generally changing around the 20th-21st of each month. Supposedly these signs are part of what makes us all unique. Combining these two signs, alone, allows for 144 different personalizes and that is before you throw in the moon sign (changes every 2-2.5 days) and the rising sign (changes every 2 hours). And then there are the planet placements at the time a person is born—different for everybody since the universe is in constant motion. I have always found Astrology to be a fascinating subject, although in truth, way over my head.
I bet you’ll be making some fabulous little sheep this year to celebrate the sign. I can’t wait to see them.

Hello Jackie, I’ll be by to visit in a week or two to snag a post from you. I’m trying to stay in some sort of order to be fair to everyone who resides in our neighborhood. When I slide in new players, it sometimes messes up the pecking order, but I spent about two hours yesterday trying to get everyone straight. Right now we have about 24 participants, and then on occasion, I simply use my own material for whatever reason. My goal is to post one entry per day. If you have something specific you want to pull from the archives let me know, but it is usually easier if I select something spontaneously and work it in. Still, I trying to roll with the punches, so share your thoughts with me as you will please. 🙂

Thanks Dave! Next to knitting, my creative passion (trade background) is graphic design. For the blog, I’ve been teaching myself to use GIMP image editing software. You might want to check out GIMP’s free download for your graphics, too. It’s not so sleek as Adobe’s $$$ machine, but can do pretty well whatever Adobe Photoshop does—and it’s FREE!!! 🙂 ♥ ❤ @ http://www.gimp.org
