Happy Monday ♥ September 8th… oh no, say it ain’t snow!

Happy Monday ❤ September 8th... oh no, say it ain't snow!

Hmmm… September 8th and all the leafy foliage is still green on the trees! So what’s wrong with this picture? Interesting, how there was no mention of the “s” word in our weather forecast. Yet it snowed all morning. This is all that was left by 1:30 pm when I took this photo. All’s well and melted now, with summery conditions in the forecast 🙂 But oh boy, that was a bit of a flakey heart attack!

Is it snowing where you are? In our 5.5 years living here at the 53rd parallel north, we’ve never seen September snow! Just 2 days ago on Saturday, it was 25ºC/77ºF and I was knitting in the sunshine…

Okay, let’s shift gears now. Here is an impromptu clip of our sweetie pie niece (captured during our Niagara vacation). Kids are so cute at that age, aren’t they? 🙂 So adorable, as she munches on a snack—just minding her own business and never realizing we had the iPad pointed right at her 🙂

Anywho, just thought it’d be fun to share this with you 🙂   Jackie

  1. Is it winter yet? it must be freezing. In Malaysia, we have raining almost everyday. 🙂

    • LoL … chilly for sure, though not yet winter… Still technically summer, so not even fall! Can’t control the weather, but all your rain and our early snow make the seasons look rather confused 😉 ❤ ❤

  2. Oh dear, September snow ⛄ sounds a bit drastic. Must have been pretty though against colours of this time of year.

    • Oh yeah, fresh snow is always pretty… But this was a shocking sight, and SURE glad it melted out of sight after half a day! 🙂 ❤ ❤

  3. Wow! Already snow! Great knitting weather! We are still in the 90’s here!

    • Ooooh, 90’s… LUV knitting cotton dishcloths in sweaty weather! Our first dusting is usually late October/early November, so these flakes fell really early. It only lasted half a day and currently 41ºF, but the forecast says 70’s starting Sunday! 🙂 ❤ ❤

    • Hey sorry Carl, we’re fresh out of snow and don’t expect more for another 1-2 months… How about we trade temperatures then? 😉 For now, try to cool off watching this news clip about the summer snow storm in Calgary —> 3 hours to our south + closer proximity to the Rocky Mountain foothills + higher elevation = crazier weather than here! 🙂 ❤ ❤

My first (and only) year living in Saskatchewan we had snow in September. Not being from the prairies it was definitely something to write home about lol! Your niece is terribly cute! 😉

    • Oh thank you and yes, we think she is absolutely adorable… but we’re a bit biased! 😉 Summer snow storms are definitely not the prairie norm, although they do happen. It seems there’s always something to write home about when it comes to Canadian weather! Hope the rest of your year in Saskatchewan went well for you 🙂 ❤ ❤

    • Oh yeah, waaay too early for the white fluffy stuff!!! A shocking sight, but happy to report that it all melted shortly after taking my photo 🙂 The summer snow storm hit much worse in Calgary (a few hours south from here), but forecasters are predicting 20’s ºC temperatures by the end of the weekend… so hopefully… ‘guess we’ll wait ‘n see! Crazy weather everywhere, it seems… Hope your monsoon is drying out 🙂 ❤ ❤
