And snow it begins… the hunt for winter treasure ♥

They said it was coming, 

and we knew they were right.

Then sure as predicted, 

winter arrived Friday night…

along with 10-20 cms 

of its fine flakey friends.

As the clock struck November, we fell back an hour (for Standard Time), pulled the flannel covers up over our heads and bid farewell to fall. There may or may not have been grumbling… though at our latitude, we really can’t complain (much). This was our first major snow of the season, and it fell after a fairly fab fall. Most of the leaves had remained on the trees right to the end of October, after all. But now the sunsets are so early, while the days suddenly seem short. Well at least we finally got that ‘extra’ hour back… so we’ll find a thwarted treasure of comfort in that  😉

The snow fell Friday through Saturday, leaving us in no rush to roll out of bed for a look outside on Sunday. Then when we finally did look, we saw Randy—and my frown was immediately turned upside-down 🙂 Our kindhearted neighbour had chosen to embrace the day. He’d bundled-up early and brought his snowblower our way! In fact by the time we noticed, he was nearly done clearing our driveway! We think Randy’s thoughtful heart makes him a treasure… and pray God bless him forever  ❤

Treasures of kindness cannot melt the frozen snow, though their beauty will inspire the heart and just might help make the prospect of another long, harsh winter seem shorter 🙂 What other buried treasure have you found measured by the snow?
